Mediation involves a neutral third party, the mediator, who guides constructive dialogue between conflicting parties to assist them in reaching a mutually agreeable resolution. Unlike a judge or arbitrator, the mediator does not impose decisions but instead facilitates clarity, explores solutions, and identifies shared interests. 

This approach can be used to to aid in legal disputes, workplace conflicts, and family matters to promote communication, alleviate tensions, and achieve enduring outcomes through voluntary and confidential negotiations.
